Xavi will stay in Barcelona

The 34 years old midfielder has agreed to play a secondary role in Barcelona.

Xavi Hernandez will be wearing FC Barcelona kits until June 30, 2015. The Catalan Spanish international midfielder , who was very close to join Qatari club Al Arabi during the Brazilian World, then in contacts with New York City to join the MLS, will finally go back to training with Barcelona and join the group on July the 24 .

The new coach , Luis Enrique , has convinced Xavi to play a secondary role in the new stage of the Blaugrana club. The player, is playing with the first team since the 1998-1999 season , and is under contract with Barca until June 2016.

It is worth mentioning that Luis Enrique had already bolster his team with Luis Suarez coming from Liverpool , Rakitic from Seville , Claudo Bravo from Real Sociedad and Marc-André ter Stegen who used to play for Borussia Mönchengladbach
