Luka Modric to Chelsea ??

Jose Mourinho tried to sign Luka Modric.

With the signing of Toni kroos and James Rodriguez , The Portugues Chelsea's manager tried to convince Real Madrid's Croatian player Luka Modric to join Chelsea , but it seems that the medfield refused this approach.

The former Real Madrid coach Confessed that he tried to contact Luka Modric personally to sign the player , Mourinho told the Croatian Newspaper "Sportske Novasti" that "he called modric privately but he doesn't want to join Chelsea , you know that I really appreciate Luka and his qualities. But he stays in Real Madrid"

It is worth mentioning that the 28 years old player moved from Tottenham hotspur for a £33million and was linked to a move back to England several times this year ,and that the Blues tried to sign the Croatian international medfield before he left the White Hart Lane, and earlier this year reports in Spain had suggested that Mourinho was considering a summer swoop for the 28-year-old.
