Villa : "We were confident of winning"

Atletico Madrid striker David Villa said that his team was confident about winning in Vicente Calderón.

The Spanish Atletico Madrid striker David Villa expressed his happiness after qualifying to the semifinal of the European Champions League after winning against his former team Barcelona (1-0) in the quarter-final second leg.

Villa said : "We are happy with the performance we did today, and happy for the fans, which are still celebrating in Madrid"

David pointed out that the "Rojiblancos" deserved to qualify : "We were better than Barcelona in all the lines, we made a lot of opportunities and we could have had a larger result".

In response to a question about Barcelona's performance in the match, Villa said: "We are confident of our ability to achieve victory, Barcelona is a great team but we were simply the best ".
