FIFA's disciplinary commission settled their decision on Suarez
Three weeks after the end of the World Cup , the FiFA's disciplinary commission reviewed several cases during the World Cup , among them , Luis Suarez' case , as he was suspended 9 matches , and four months from any football activity , it seems that FIFA's decision has not changed. The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced , via a press release , the sanctions they took against some players and managers at the end of the World Cup , Fifa confirmed the suspension of Luis Suarez : eight remaining matches on the suspension of nine games imposed (as his national team played one game in the World Cup that he didn't participate in ) , as well as a suspension of any activity related to football during four months.
the Uruguayan striker has been suspended after having biting the Italian Giorgio Chiellini , last June 24 , in the group stage of the World Cup , and had , therefore , missed the 1/8 finals , where they lost to Colombia 2-0 , thanks to Real Madrid's new recruitment James Rodriguez , and will be forbidden from participation with Barcelona , until the end of October.
The former Liverpool player should get back to the stadium in October , a day before El Clasicoo vs Real Madrid , but Suarez still hopes that the TAS (Administrative Tribunal of Sport) could reduce the suspension , as they had announced that they would review the penalty , and according to some jurists , the playing prohibition could be reduced by half , which means that Luis will only miss one match with Barcelona , and that he would be allowed to play in La Liga, but not the international matches.
Other sanctions has been taken during FIFA's review : Greece coach ,Fernando Manuel Fernandes , has been suspended eight games for "having repeatedly demonstrated an unsportsmanlike behavior towards the match officials" in the 2nd round of the World Cup vs Costa Rica . The Cameroonian Alex Song , has been suspended 3 matches (one has already been played ) , as he was guilty for having hit the back of Atletico Madrid's new player , Mario Mandžukić , with his elbow during Cameroon's match vs Croatia in the group stage.
